At this point I have read Way of Kings five times. It is my favorite book of all time. I am finishing up my second reading of Words of Radiance right now. My second favorite book of all time. The Stormlight Archive just amazed me on every level. I am not implying they are perfect. I have read some very insightful bad reviews of them. For my taste as a reader I cannot imagine another series will ever come along that I like more than this!

A word of caution. I do not think that this is a good place to start if you are new to Brandon Sanderson. For that I would recommend his Mistborn Trilogy. You can find that here Mistborn Trilogy. That is where I started and I am glad I did.

Absolutely fantastic! I was completely drawn in, could barely sleep for days from being so caught up in these books. I suggest you start this series at this very moment. I laughed, cried, shouted in dismay, cheered and jumped up and down in excitement. Well done again Brandon Sanderson, I salute you!
These two books are some of my favorite, In some ways its the typical beaten down character that comes to power, but that is like calling Lord Of The Rings a quaint fantasy series. The Characters are complex, the story fairly fast pace and one of those books you will be rereading/listening to 20 years from now.
Hands down one of the best series I've ever read, re-read, and can't wait to read again!
I have never read a book that I have loved more. This series is the best I have ever read. I am heartbroken that I have to wait for the next book, I actually never wanted it to end. I love the characters and they have become a part of my life. Storms hurry and bring me more please............
If you have not already read this book and this Series you have done yourself a Disservice , I have never read such an epic story that could make my spirit soar and my heart sing in anticipation. I love Brandon Sanderson books but this was in a class above anything I have ever read before. Read the Book, and if you have the opportunity, listen to the Audiobook,
Great characters, somewhat slow at times but it all comes together into a very well woven timeless tale. And another thing I find extra great about this series is that it isn't full of gratuitous (and unnecessary) violence and depressing stories (here's looking at you Malazan and GoT). Don't get me wrong it gets dark for a bit, but it is appropriate and beneficial to the story. My new favorite series!
If you're interested in an EPIC series set in a complex and interesting world, Sanderson delivers like no other. The attention to detail and world building are astounding. I could write forever about how great this is, but it's just wonderfully rich like Game of Thrones or Tolkien or other well built fantasy or sci-fi worlds. You follow various characters from all walks of life, but the three main characters are a working class soldier turned slave, an aristocratic warhawk, and a middle class young woman hoping to save her family's estate. You've got political intrigue, you've got magical spren who are not quite what they appear, you have a caste system based on eye-color that also includes an entire race of slaves.
I disagree with other reviews that say all the world building and attention to detail don't pay off. This is the first 3 of 10 books, so there's a lot more coming. And having just finished Oathbringer, there's a lot of payoff for all the details and different characters.
I would recommend Mistborn as well. I'm not as big a fan of his Reckoners series only because I feel he does better with an empty canvass to build a new world, the reckoner's series is set on earth.
